Pamela I. Atkins
Pamela I. Atkins is the principal owner of the law firm of Atkins & Associates, Attorneys-at-Law, LLC in Atlanta, Georgia.
A substantial part of her law practice, during the last decade, has been devoted to representing clients in disability matters including insurance disputes on individual disability and group insurance policies, both ERISA and non-ERISA, in federal and state courts. Ms. Atkins has also earned a stellar reputation as a Social Security practitioner and has represented successfully hundreds of Social Security Disability Income claimants at administrative hearings and in their federal court appeals. Her experience goes beyond litigating disability claims, and each year Ms. Atkins selectively handles a few personal injury litigation matters involving wrongful death or catastrophic injuries or nursing home negligence. She also advises clients on Medicare, Medicaid and Elder Law Issues..
Ms. Atkins is a frequent speaker at conferences for attorneys and organizations, and has been retained by other lawyers, private industry, and the federal government for advice on disability design and regulation. She is the immediate Past President of the National Organization of Social Security Claimant's Representatives (NOSSCR), and has served on the NOSSCR Board of Directors for over 10 years. In addition, she is a member of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association (GTLA) and is a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA).
Ms. Atkins graduated Magna Cum Laude from Emory University and earned the distinction of Beta Gamma Sigma. She received her Juris Doctorate from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. where she was an editor on the Law Review. Ms. Atkins is admitted to the Georgia Bar, the Maryland Bar and the District of Columbia Bar and to the federal and state courts in Georgia, Maryland and District of Columbia.
